Houston pool designer? Why should I hire you over these other six pool companies?

The biggest challenge for Marquise Pools is we’re not the cheapest pool company in town. Our answer to that is that because we take the time and money to hire landscape architects. I think there’s only one or two other Houston pool designers that have landscape architects.

Having landscape architects design and build creates a better quality point, it creates better creativity, and better design. It also makes the planning and design and permitting seamless because you’re not having to hire outside people to do the permitting and the stamping of the drawing.

So, these larger home owners, they like that turnkey approach. A lot of other pool companies have to hire other companies to make it look like a turnkey approach when it’s not really.

With Marquise Pools we set it up so that the homeowner has one throat to choke and that’s the architect. The architect is the liaison between the design team and the construction team and that’s what these customers want. One point of contact to take care of not only the design part but the construction part.

You know we always talk about experience. I mean we’re past our 20th year. We love making customers happy. We like to see the client reaction when the pools done, you start it up and they’re like Oh my God this is way more than we expected.

We like when people tell us that we exceeded their expectations. That is our ultimate goal. It’s hard to tell you how good we’re going to take care of you when you’re signing the paperwork and tell easer you talk to somebody that’s been through the process or you go through the process yourself.

But at the end of the day when the pools running and the kiddos and the family jump in for the first time, they’re happy. And they’re extremely happy because they feel like it is worth it.

We aren’t just pool builders. We are the best Houston pool designer and builder. Period.

Does Marquise Pools have a warranty?

Yes, we have our own warranties. The shell of our pools are gunite and they have a lifetime warranty. Then we have your deck, tile and masonry which is five years. Then your equipment. It varies but it’s the average is 3-1/2 years parts and labor.

But our service program, our technical repair program, is ongoing because we all know pumps don’t last. We know we get the little white marks on the tile. Our work order procedure process and our warranty follow up process is a team of two people. They take the calls, they fill the calls, they do the work order. Then between the two of them, they satisfy these work orders on a weekly basis.

Will I need to be at home during the pool construction?

There are only a few times that we need you to be home during construction. You need to be at home the day we do the excavation and the day that the utilities (electricians and gas people) are there. We will need you to water down the new Gunite 3-4 times a day for 3 Days. Once the pool is plastered and filled, we need you to brush the pool 2-3 times a day for the first 10 days.

How do I decide what pool size, shape, and design is right for my family?

As an experienced Houston pool designer, we can tell you that your yard size, location and size of utility easements, and in some cases local governmental codes and deed restrictions will limit your project size.

If you have a homeowner association they also may have guidelines to be considered. Your planned use of the pool (swimming laps, diving vs. non-diving, kiddies area, sports – i.e. volley ball) will be factors to consider in determining length and depths.

Size of family or expected number of guests can be considerations in deciding on the size of your pool. The shape and design of your pool can be suggested by the architectural design of your house and existing landscaping and can be influenced by site conditions (i.e. slope and elevation of the yard).

Your lifestyle, budget and personal preferences will also come into play. Marquise Pools designers are fully qualified to assist you in determining the right pool shape and design.

I heard pools are a lot of trouble to maintain. Is that true?

Not any more. Marquise Pools combines years of proven experience with today’s most efficient technology to build a pool that is surprisingly easy to maintain. 20 minutes a week is all it usually takes. Each pool has the following features that make care easy.

– Strategically placed water returns move debris where it can be captured.
– High volume circulation system that filters every gallon of water 3 or more times every day.
– The energy efficient-pump and correctly sized filtration system that provides clean, crystal clear water.
– Booster pump driven pool cleaners that will vacuum, sweep and scrub the bottom and walls of any size pool.
– Solid construction means many years of trouble free maintenance.

How long does it take to build a pool?

Marquise Pools is a leading Houston pool designer and different from the cookie-cutter pool companies. We don’t ask you to pick one of our designs from a book. After you call Marquise Pools we will prepare a unique design tailored to your project. We will discuss your ideas and adjust the design until we have everything just right.

Once we have design approval, Marquise Pools will file for the needed building permits. Getting the permits approved usually takes one to two weeks. During the wait for permits, your tile, equipment, and any special materials in the design will be ordered. It is important that you make your selections as soon as possible.

Once we have the permits, your project will be scheduled. Depending on other projects already underway, your excavation will usually start within a week or two. The construction phase usually takes four to six weeks, depending on your design features and the weather.

Marquise Pools is an experienced Houston pool designer. When you talk to Marquise Pools, they can give you a pretty good estimate based on your particulars, also taking into consideration the time of year and other projects already scheduled or underway.

Some people wait too long to get started and are disappointed when they don’t have their pool for the beginning of summer. Spring is the busiest time of year and the backlog of pools ready to start can be several weeks long. That is why we encourage customers to get started as soon as possible.

What should I know about the pool layout?

The pool layout is the painted shape and position of the pool that we paint on your ground prior to any work being done. It is used as a guide for our excavators when they dig your pool. We ask that you approve the location and shape of the pool prior to the start of excavation.

You need to remember that the layout will appear smaller than the finished pool due to it being a flat representation of your pool. We layout the pool 6 inches larger in every direction. In other words, a pool which will finish 30 feet long must be laid out and dug 31 feet. This allows for the thick concrete on the pool walls so the finish will be exact and correct.

Sometimes the layout looks different on the ground than it did on the plan. Take the time to be sure everything is the way you want it. At this stage it is no problem to make the pool a few feet longer or slide it to the right a couple feet.

Are you going to show me how to maintain the pool?

At start up we turn the pool on and check out the system to make sure everything is working properly. Marquise Pools provides the first month of pool maintenance and finishes up with an onsite pool school for our new pool owners to train them on the care and maintenance. We partner with an experienced pool service company for our customers that prefer someone to do most of the maintenance for them. To refresh, you can refer to our Pool Care information on this website for guidelines.

How long should I be running my pump and filter each day?

Most single family applications in the Houston area with our quality filtration equipment can be kept sanitized with 8 to12 hours a day of operation during the summer months and 4 to 8 hours a day during the winter months. Heavier use, warmer weather and contamination from dirt and leaves may necessitate longer operating periods. Marquise Pools will answer all your maintenance questions when we hold your pool school to train you on the care and maintenance of your new pool.

Can my new swimming pool be automated?

Absolutely yes! Marquise Pools is a high tech Houston pool designer. With the latest technology you can automate water features, lighting, heating, filters, cleaning systems, and more, from a control panel or even right from your mobile device! Visit with one of our pool designers for information specific to your pool and equipment.
