Lagoon Giant is one of our great featured inground pools that we did out in Cypress Texas. This pool has very formal pieces to it but it also has very organic pieces as well. This pool sits on a pond in this person’s backyard. The backside of the pool has more of an organic feel or features that kind of dissolves itself in to the pond area.
The house side of the pool is very formal and it has these very formal circular planters with the palm trees that creates an architectural link to the house. This gives us a best of both worlds if you will. It has very formal elements but it also has very organic natural elements. This is one of our favorite inground pools.
Not many home inground pools holds 100,000 gallons of water. This pool has a series of combinations of Pebble Sheen colors to create the shade of blue that you see in the photos and it also combines the sandy beach Pebble Sheen to mimic or replicate a real beach. It’s a massive house. It’s a 14,000 square foot home. So of course, the pool itself needed to be about 64 feet long to be in proportion to the house footprint. It’s a wonderful combination of formal and natural.
This spa is oversized and it has an elevated aspect to it. It’s raised and has a negative edge that drops down 16 inches into the main pool. The neat part about the spa is that it is organic. It has the negative edge. It’s a free form shape which mimics the free form shape of the pool but it’s flanked by a directly symmetrical round planter or indents itself into one side of the spa. So, one side of the spa is formal and the other side of the spa is natural which is the same design concept that’s replicated into the main pool.
